開校当時に本校で英会話の先生をしていたリオニー先生が、ご家族と一緒に学校に遊びに来てくれました。
約２０年ぶりに学校に来て、「立派な学校になった。」と思ってくださったようです。
１年生と３年生の教室で、リオニー先生が児童たちの質問に答えてくれました。
リオニー先生の２人のお子様は小学５年生と中学２年生で、子どもたちと一緒に授業に参加してくれました。
授業後、「楽しかった。１年生や３年生とは思えないぐらいの英会話ができていた。」と、感想を話していました。
中学２年生のお兄さんは、本校の姉妹校であるレッドランズカレッジに通っています。
毎年本校６年生が修学旅行で訪問しているので、オーストラリアで再会できるのを楽しみにしてくれているようです。
We are thrilled to have received a visit from Ms. Leonie and her lovely family to our school. Ms. Leonie was a founding member of our English teaching staff when we opened our school 20 years ago. Upon seeing how our English language program has evolved in the past 20 years, we were pleased to receive such delightful feedback such as “I’m impressed that these first graders and third graders are speaking English!” and “The English classes were a lot of fun!”. Ms. Leonie’s sons are 11 and 14 years old. Her eldest son attends the 8th grade at our sister school, Redlands College in Brisbane, Australia and is looking forward to seeing our 6th grade students during their annual visit to Redlands College early next year!
